How does it work?
On the day of the flight you have selected, you will receive a Welcome email message 3 hours prior to departure or arrival.
A primary status message is then delivered either 2 hours prior to departure or arrival. You will then be sent further alerts for each incremental change of +/- 20 minutes from the scheduled departure/arrival time.
The service ends on receipt of a departed or a landed message depending on whether you are tracking a departure or arrival.
The service is provided free of charge to the subscriber by Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport for a limited time.
What is included with OAG Alerts?
With OAG Alerts you receive the most up to date flight information collated from Airline Information Systems, Global Distribution Systems (GDS) and Flight Arrival/Departure boards.
The service covers 3 key areas:
Flight arrivals - You will receive information on the day of your selected flight, 2 hours before the scheduled arrival time and whilst the flight is airborne (if the arrival time changes). Once the flight has landed you will receive a notification with the actual arrival time. This service is primarily intended for anyone meeting people at airports.
Flight departures - You will receive information on whether your flight is running on time 2 hours before the scheduled departure. For the benefit of those awaiting your arrival, we can also send notification of when your flight has departed. The departure service is intended for both travellers and people who need to track your flight.
Flight delays - If there is a +/-20 minute change to your flight's scheduled arrival or departure, you (or the person awaiting your arrival) will be notified within seconds.
When will I receive the first message?
The first message will be sent 3 hours prior to the scheduled departure or arrival time of the flight you wish to track. Where an individual has signed up for a flight within the 3 hour period, then they will receive a message immediately after registration.
When will I receive the first status message?
The first status message will be sent to you 2 hours before the flight's scheduled departure or arrival time, depending on the service you select.
How many messages will I receive?
This depends on the length of delay. We automatically send out a status message for every +/- 20-minute delay that occurs.
How do I pay for the service?
The service is provided free of charge to the end subscriber by Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport for a limited time.
How can I contact you about the service?
Send an email to dataservices@oag.com clearly stating your question.
Why am I not receiving any status messages?
If you have received an initial status message and there are no additional changes to the scheduled departure/arrival time, you will not receive any further status messages.
If my flight is delayed can I check-in at the airport later?
No. You must check-in as normal at the airport (see standard check-in times or check with the airline).
